Introduction:

DNA to RNA:

The first step in the central dogma is the transfer of genetic information from DNA to RNA. This process is known as transcription and is carried out by an enzyme called RNA polymerase. RNA polymerase reads the DNA sequence and synthesizes a complementary RNA molecule. The RNA is a single-stranded molecule that contains the information necessary to make a protein.

RNA to Protein:

The next step in the central dogma is the transfer of genetic information from RNA to protein. This process is known as translation and is carried out by ribosomes. Ribosomes read the RNA sequence and use the information to synthesize a protein. Protein is a complex molecule made up of amino acids.

Limitation of the Central Dogma:

The central dogma is a simplification of the complex processes that occur in living organisms. It does not take into account the many ways in which genetic information can be modified. Examples of such are RNA editing, alternative splicing, and post-translational modification of proteins. Additionally, there are examples of reverse flow of genetic information such as RNA-dependent DNA polymerase(RdDp) and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRp) known as retrotransposons.
